Daniel Vaknin, AVP Outpatient Therapy Network/STARS
Daniel received his Masters Degree in Physical Therapy from Touro College and has over 20 years experience. He is certified in the McKenzie Method for the diagnosis and treatment of spinal dysfunctions. Dan is also trained and TPI certified through the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI). Dan’s specialties include orthopaedic rehabilitation, sports therapy, trauma and lower extremity amputation. Daniel has also completed advanced coursework related to spine, shoulder, knee, ankle and hip pathologies.
Roger Gerland, MS, PT, ATC – Manager
Roger is a licensed Physical Therapist with over 20 years experience. He received his Masters Degree in Physical Therapy from Long Island University and his Athletic Trainer Certification from Springfield College. Roger is trained and TPI certified through the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) and holds a K-Vest level 1 3D motion analysis certification. Roger’s clinical focus lies in orthopaedics rehabilitation, sports therapy and golf rehabilitation.
Stephen Trama, PT, Cert MDT – Supervisor
Stephen has 20 years experience as a Physical Therapist earning his degree from Daeman College. His expertise has been in spine care, orthopaedic and neurologic rehabilitation. Steve is certified in the McKenzie Method for the diagnosis and treatment of spinal dysfunctions. Stephen’s clinical philosophy blends exercise, patient education, functional training with a strong emphasis on manual techniques in order to relieve pain and optimize outcomes.
Ariellen Calivas, PT
Ariellen is a licensed physical therapist and a graduate of Boston University. Prior to joining the STARS team in 2010, Ariellen was the Chief of Physical Therapy at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases as well as a physical therapist at the Harkness Center for Dance Injuries. Ariellen has over 12 years experience treating both pre-professional and professional ballet and modern dancers.
Lauren Zito, DPT
Lauren is a licensed Physical Therapist with over 7 years experience. She received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from New York Institute of Technology. Lauren’s clinical focus is in the areas of orthopaedic rehabilitation, sports therapy, spinal pathologies and pediatrics.
